THE DUMB, BLIND and POSSESSED MAN - Year Two - c AD28-29

(Matthew 12:22-23; Luke 11:14) Matthew 12:22-23 - Then (after healing the man with the shrivelled hand, and many others) a devil-possessed man who could neither see nor speak was brought to Jesus. He healed him, so that the dumb man could both speak and see. At this the whole crowd went wild with excitement, and people kept saying, "Can this be the Son of David?" (.... Jesus is then accused by the Pharisees of using the power of the devil.)
Luke 11:14 - Another time (in Luke's account, after teaching the Lord's Prayer and about how God answers prayer), Jesus was expelling an evil spirit which was preventing a man from speaking, and as soon as the evil spirit left him, the dumb man found his speech, to the amazement of the crowds. (Jesus now faces the same accusations as in Matthew's Gospel about being in league with the devil.)

Thankfully the website on JBPhillips (see below for permissions information) had all Jesus' healings recorded chronologically and integrated with all four gospels, so I simply put each healing on a post.

Please note: Because no one Gospel includes all of Jesus' healings, the various accounts of healing multitudes, and the numerous accounts of demonstrations of the power of God shown in supply ( like the feeding of the 5,000) or in nature (like Jesus' stilling the storm), no exact chronology is known.

At the end of this blog is a post that includes Jesus demonstrations of supply, overcoming nature's forces, his other works as well as his own resurrection. The very last post is a chronological listing of all Jesus' healings and works, according to JBPhillips.

Each healing is also tagged with subjects that make them easy to pull up. For instance if you wanted all of Jesus' healings that dealt with mental conditions, you would click on the tag that said "Healing - Mental" and so on. See the info box below for more tags. Although I have been blogging since 2005, I have been fascinated with Jesus' healing works since going to Sunday School.

I was forever more intrigued with Jesus' commands that we go and do the same. And finding the answer to the question "But how did he do that?" has been the impulse behind putting this site together.

Jesus is recorded as saying ( in the book of John, chapter 14 and verse 12):

"He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
